“Innovation; taking two things that previously existed and putting them together in a new way”

That’s exactly what has been achieved over at Jamie’s Touring Solutions with the JTS Power Pole which I caught wind of last week. The pole itself is just like a regular tent pole, only constructed from aluminium rather than steel, and available in a few different configurations to suit your application. The other half to this creation is the inbuilt LED light strip. The light is fitted internally, recessed into the pole so that you still retain full functionality of a tent pole. It boasts 1000 lumens (that’s roughly up the the old standard of being as bright as a gas lantern) and fully dimmable for that ‘candle lit dinner’ effect. And it only draws .65 of an amp!

The JTS Power Pole will set you back $135. For more information, see JTS Online

Check out the Doble Outdoors version. They appear to be a lot more polished in their design and function. I have a couple and they are self sustaining on their solar panel. I got mine from Luke @ Drifta Camping & 4WD. Maybe you could do a comparison.... Kind regards, Dave, Cairns Qld

They come with a solar panel as well? That's pretty nifty! Throw it up on the top of your tent and you'd be set! Drifta Camping & 4WD sells a lot of good and unique gear!
